What are cookies?

Essential cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They do not reveal your identity and do not collect information for marketing purposes.

Analytics cookies
These cookies let us count visits and see how you arrive at our website, so we can improve how it works. For this purpose we use Google Analytics (GA4, property ID G-JVBFPJ6G47), to assess how visitors interact with our site content: unique and repeat visits, session length, and actions taken on the site. If you reject this category, the Google tag still loads, but sends only anonymised, cookieless signals (see "Consent Mode" below); no cookies in this category are stored on your device.

Marketing and advertising cookies
These cookies are placed on the site in connection with our marketing and advertising service providers, and ensure that the offers you see online are based on your interests and activity.
We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel (ID 868212536904419) to process information about visitor activity on our website and show interest-based advertising on Facebook and Instagram. Unlike the Google tags, the Meta Pixel does not load at all until you have consented to the marketing category. For similar purposes we use Google Ads conversion tracking (ID AW-449627814).

Consent Mode
The Google tags (GA4 and Google Ads) on our site run in Google Consent Mode v2, advanced mode. This means the tags always load, but before your choice, every signal defaults to denied: no cookies are set, and only anonymised, cookieless visit signals are sent to Google. We use this approach deliberately: it preserves an aggregate, not individual, view of conversions even for visitors who reject cookies. The Meta Pixel is not part of this scheme: it is blocked entirely until you consent to the marketing category.
Google Fonts
The fonts used in our site design (DM Serif Display, Plus Jakarta Sans) are loaded from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com). This loading does not depend on your cookie choice, because fonts are treated as a technical part of the site rather than a tracking tool, but it does mean your device's IP address is sent to Google at request time.
Third-country data transfers
Google and Meta may process the cookie data described above on servers located outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, including the United States. Any such transfer takes place under the data protection mechanisms offered by the respective service provider.
Other services' cookies
Our learning platform (learn.excelknowhow.com) and blog (blog.excelknowhow.com) run on their own websites with their own cookie policies. When you move to them, that service's policy applies, not this one. These services may place their own cookies necessary for their operation, such as keeping you signed in.
How to control cookies?
When you visit our site, you are shown a cookie notice where you can choose which cookie categories to allow: accept all, analytics only, or reject. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time.
You can also delete any cookies already stored in your browser and set your browser to block them. Your browser's help section will have instructions on preventing it from storing cookies, and on seeing which cookies are already stored so you can delete them if you wish. Settings must be changed separately for each browser you use.
Please note that by not storing certain cookies, you may not be able to make full use of all Excel Know How website features and services.
